Project Update

Alright - so, as you can see, I haven't posted any Nature project photos yet! This is because I've decided to postpone the project until I get my new lens. (hopefully within the next few weeks) I have been fighting with the only lens I have right now (a 70-300 mm) and NOT having a fun time trying to take macro shots! Anyways, stay tuned for the first Nature photos within the next little while!

Photographic Study of Nature

Seeing as this will be my last day of photography classes for a while, I'll have a bit more free time on my hands. I thought it would be a good use of my time to create my own photo project. I've chosen Nature as my topic and I'll be focusing only on close-up/macro style photography for this study. The finished study will contain 20 images and
all will be in colour. I hope to showcase the vast range of naturally occuring colours that are all around us. The raw beauty that's found in nature can be so easily taken for granted. I will have the first photo of the collection finished and posted here by the end of the week.

Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions?

Tiggy

This is my little buddy 'Tiggy'. He tends to be my model in a lot of photo related ideas that pop into my head, since he's always sitting there staring at me anyways. I thought this was really fun, although I'm sure he had other thoughts - he was a very good boy and stayed relatively still while I tied this toque around his head in many different ways.

Kassy's Fashion Shoot

This was another school assignment for my Photographic Categories course. We had to shoot two fashion style photo's to sell a product. I chose to go with the glasses. Thank you to my beautiful model, Kassy - you were great to work with and I look forward to doing more shoots with you in the future!

Sharise & Colin's Engagement Preview

Here are a few preview photo's from an engagement/school assignment session I recently did for some friends of mine. These two are hilarious to work with! I'm pretty happy with how these shots turned out. Thanks for letting me chase you around the farm, Reese!

Fashion preview!

Alright, so here are a few sneak peek photos from a fashion shoot that was set up at my school this past weekend. I really enjoyed working with all the models, such a great atmosphere! Many thanks to Dean Unger and everyone else that worked to pull everything together for this shoot!
Let me know what you think!

Playing around with some product shots..

These are the cutest little yellow heels, I have been wanting to photograph them for quite a while now and I think these shots turned out pretty good. =]

This was a project that Dave set up for himself. After he was done shooting, he let me take a few shots before he took all of these pencil crayons off the backdrop. I love this effect! Thanks Dave!

So, these are some of my favorite shots that I got while playing around in the studio yesterday. Thanks so much for the help of two of my classmates, Allana (Absolute Photography) and Dave (Wild in Revelstoke Photography). Hope you enjoy!

Portraits of the lovely Blaine

So, my classmate Blaine and I had an assignment to get 2 portraits of each other. They had to be in different locations and they had to express the personality of the individual being photographed. Here are a few of the ones I liked. I hope you enjoy them!

More Horsey Favorites

This is a really artsy type shot that I love. The colours in the background are from the sun beginning to set behind the mountains - what a beautiful evening!

A few new equine shots..

A pretty scene, looking over the horses paddocks and into the sunset. It's been so long since we've seen such a colourful sky like this around here!

"Velvet muzzle"
I like the detail in this shot, although it's not my favorite composition. I would like to do a re-shoot and try to get a vertical with some of his head in the background.

This is my best friend Kristina with a tall, dark and handsome guy named Magi. Unfortunately, Magi was more interested in scoping out a few treats than settling in for a hug!

Magi again - trying to suck on a whole apple that he engulfed in his excitement. =] Silly boy.

Lovely Landscapes

Just a few shots I snapped one gorgeous day from my balcony at home. I love the colours and how calm the lake was that day.

Shoes!

This was my first experience with any sort of product photography. It was an assignment for one of my courses last quarter. I think it turned out pretty awesome! I'd love to do some more shots of products like this in the future.

Black & White or Colour?

It's amazing what a difference in mood the same photo can project, whether it's in black & white or in colour. I was playing around in photoshop with this photo and I couldn't decide which version I liked best. So, if you're checking out my blog - leave me a comment and let me know which you prefer!

A few old favorites...

No, unfortunately it's not real - still pretty cute though! I love interesting detail shots like this one.

This is Raz, a little gray Arabian gelding with lots of attitude!

Summer sunset - this is the view from my balcony at home.

A little bit of summer fun out on the lake. This was taken right after I got my new camera, (Nikon D300) and it turned out pretty good considering..
